CDJ 900 and CDJ 2000 the lastest from Pioneer
About a week ago I take a look on HousePlanet.DJ to a review of the new Pioneer CDJ 900 and 2000 CD players. I think that many people were waiting a huge innovation from Pioneer on this great CD Player. When I read the hole review and I watched the videos I got a feeling of disappointment.
Why? There a some many reasons… Pioneer use to be a leadership on dj equipment making trend with his products and now is a simple follower… What we have new on this CD Player is basically a improvement on the way of how the music is organized, selected and prepared for mix. Both CDJ comes with built-in computer software, developed by Pioneer, that lets you choose music from computer and get it on your deck. Now CDJ comes with a too much bigger screen with a great definition to locate your music as fast as you can, and a fast track searcher bar that works with touch.
This features for me are an EPIC FAIL. Denon have done that with HD series, many companies ships here products with some kind of built in software… and main many, many DJs are going to still using Traktor Pro or Serato ITCH to connect their Decks to the computer… so… Why to spent some many on developing a kind of software that exits? And obviously this Pioneer software is not a Traktor killer or something else.
In my modest opinion Pioneer didn’t innovate nothing with the new this new Decks… and the digital era is only starting. Now a days we have decks like Denon DNS 3700, with torque power, mp3, midi output via usb for the pc, effects, awesome sound quality and a strong manufacturing and in a first looks this players (not the highest from Denon) looks for me a more advance machine than the new DCJs.
